Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2024/25 school year!!

We are very excited to welcome you and your children as part of this amazing community that we call Fireside School.  Supporting and fostering a close relationship between the school and home is a key component in enabling our young learners to reach their full potential.  Throughout this school year, we will work together to challenge our students to grow in many ways, including academically, emotionally, and physically.

Fireside school for the 2024/25 school year is made up of approximately 930 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and is supported by 70 dedicated and passionate staff members. While we are a large school, we pride ourselves on continuing to stay connected and responsive to our community.  We believe that the closer the connection between home, community and the school is the more effective we can all be.

For the 2024/25 school year we will be focusing our school improvement on three key areas: supporting student literacy and numeracy, celebrating and supporting diversity, and creating inclusive, engaging, healthy learning opportunities for all students.  A few examples of initiatives we are currently working on supporting a robust student literacy program, purposeful celebration of our community and supporting students with academic and social-emotional challenges.

Please do not hesitate to contact us whenever you have a question, concern, or want an update on your child. We look forward to a successful and exciting school year.
