Friends of Fireside School Society is the school's fundraising group.

Friends of Fireside School Society 2023/2024

Friends of Fireside School was established in 2017 to to coincide with the opening of Fireside School, serving the residents of Fireside and River Heights in Cochrane, AB. It was the vision of the founding board to raise enough funds to build an inclusive playground for the school community. That dream was achieved on September 13, 2018 when the community got together and built a playground meant for all.

FOFS also supports many other school initiatives and meets monthly to discuss events, fundraising activities, and the future needs of our school. If you are passionate about fundraising, come and join us, we have lots of work to do! General enquiries can be sent to friends@friendsoffireside.ca

The founding members of FOFS had one initiative in mind when they formed as an offical fundraising society in Dec '2016 - BUILD A PLAYGROUND. But not just any playground. A fully inclusive, of every grade, age and ability AND a fully accessible playground - a place to play for EVERYONE! After 18 months of successfully funsraising the group raised more than $150,000 to top off the $250,000 AB governement playground grant and built our award winning, National Demonstration Site certified, state of the art inlcusive and accessible playground! Which was volunteer built in Sept '2018 and offically opened for use Oct '2018.
