Hello parents, guardians, and family. My name is Melanie Hamilton and I am super excited to work with your child(ren) this year. I am a long-time member of the Cochrane community and a former student in RVS and both my children went through RVS, so I feel a deep connection to this division and all the people within it.

This year I will be teaching physical education to most of our school population, with the exception of Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 3.  As the lead physical education teacher at Fireside School, it is my intention to help your children continue to learn and experience more about how to lead active, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

As an activity enthusiast, I love getting the opportunity to building meaningful relationships through activity with so many students in our school. I truly believe that being active makes us better people. Whether it be by bettering our health (physical, mental, and/or emotional), teaching us essential life skills (communication, cooperation, respect, and safety), or simply having fun, activity is something I feel we need in our lives.

As we move forward as a school, we continue to work together to create a positive school culture rooted in respect, health, and wellness. I strongly encourage all students to take an active role in our school to help make it the place to be! Whether that is by participating in intramurals, joining a club, or by being a great role model and classmate, your child(ren) can make a big difference in our school. Let's make the Fireside Hawks a highly respected presence in the Rocky View School division!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns by emailing or phoning me at 403-932-4868 would also love to hear about any positive experiences or success stories your child(ren) may achieve this year.

Wishing you all the best!
